Our 45th Anniversary Year!

Teton Mountaineering has been the source for high quality climbing, backcountry skiing, camping equipment and clothing in Jackson Hole for 45 years. Locally owned and operated since 1971, we are celebrating our 45th anniversary. Please stop by and visit with our experienced staff about your next adventure and get first-hand, local knowledge about all the fun activities to do in the Tetons.

Originally called The Outhouse, owners Barry Corbet and Jake Breitenbach were bought out by John Horn and absorbed into Powderhorn Mountaineering. As the store gained strength and popularity, current owner Chuck Schaap purchased the business from Horn in 1971 and renamed it Teton Mountaineering. Located in the historic town of Jackson, WY, Teton Mountaineering has been a major leader of outdoor specialty stores for 45 years. Since its start, TM has remained committed to the core mountain sports of rock and ice climbing, backcountry and nordic skiing, backpacking, and trail running. We have since grown to include more relaxed sides of the mountain lifestyle such as yoga, children’s gear, and casual sportswear. Originally located off the southeast corner of the town square, TM relocated to its current location in 1993 to allow for further growth into its role as the best outdoor gear store in the country. We are proud of our store and staff, and appreciate our customers. Please stop in and say hi! Click here for Store Hours, Phone Number, and Google Map.
